Kissimmee, FL…The College of New Jersey softball team continued its trend of dropping the first game of the day before coming back to take the second game as the Lions followed that pattern for the third time on the spring trip. TCNJ fell to Webster University (MO) by the score of 3-1 on Tuesday, March 14 and then capped the day by beating the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, 6-0 at the Rebel Spring Games. 
With the split, the Lions are now 3-3 on the season. 
Webster University 3, TCNJ 1 Box scoreWebster (2-4) plated a pair of runs in the top of the fourth inning to erase an early 1-0 deficit and then added an insurance run in the top of the seventh to pull out the win. 
Julianne Lajiness (Monroe Township, NJ/Notre Dame) went the distance on the mound for the Lions as the junior allowed three runs, two of which were earned, while striking out six. She is now 1-2 on the season. 
TCNJ scored its lone run in the bottom of the first as 
Carlyn Perrotty (Boonton Township, NJ/Mountain Lakes) put down a squeeze bunt that scored 
Christina Lizzi (Wyckoff, NJ/Ramapo). 
At the plate, 
Jess Kohut (Hillsdale, NJ/Pascack Valley) went 2-for-3 for TCNJ. 
TCNJ 6, Wisconsin-La Crosse 0 Box scoreTCNJ jumped on the Eagles (2-4) early putting five runs on the board in the top of the third jumping out the lead. Lizzi, 
Jen Hughes (Huntington Station, NY/Walt Whitman) and 
Kristin Meister (Basking Ridge, NJ/Ridge) each came through with run-scoring singles to spark the big inning. 
The Lions added their sixth run in the fourth as Lajiness scored on a wild pitch. 
Benefiting from the offensive outburst was Kohut as she collected her second win of the season. She scattered five singles and struck out three without issuing a walk. 
For the Eagles, 
Jenny Miller (Durand, WI/Durand) had a solid game at the plate with three base hits. 
The team will be off until Friday, March 17 when they face Westminster College and Benedictine.
